First of all, knowing when to send really means knowing the type of recipients. So, do you know what time of day do people read their emails? Pinpointing the best day and time to send a campaign is difficult because ideal sending times vary between industries, B2B (Business to Business), B2C (Business to Consumer), and may also depend on the segment of a list you’re sending to. More people open emails during the day than at night especially for the corporate or B2B subscribers. Recipients likely to open emails after 12:00 PM in their respective time zones and the most active hours are 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
B2C has greater flexibility but consider the theme of your message. If your message suggests opportunities for the weekend naturally don’t send on a Sunday. Send well in advance of any time-related issues. You can picture your own world, Mondays are typically hectic, and Fridays are wind down or going out nights.
Here’s how you can schedule your campaign depending on your campaign’s flexibility.
1. On the Create Campaign tab, look for the “Show Advanced Settings” button that is located at the bottom part of the page.
2. On this page, this is where you can customize the sending schedules. When you click the Send During option, you can choose the specific start time and end time. Example 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. If you also want to use the Send All Day option there is no need to edit the time.
On the example below, Saturday and Sunday are set to No Sending All Day. If you choose this, no need to edit the start time and end time.
Important Note: all times are in CST time Central Standard Time. Please use this section to select days and time slots you would like to send emails for this campaign.
You may find that changing the time that you send your emails will change your percentage of opens. So if you want to know more about this you can contact your client success manager so he/she can you advise.
